I received my parcel of land on the UW Virtual BioDome on Thursday! I planted some poppies and cherry trees to get started and to inspire growth. It will be great fun to see what my classmates build on our sim!
Another successful fundraiser for Project Jason, an organization that assists the families of the missing, and The Garden for the Missing, a project to create awareness, was held at LoveLi Mall and earn over $200 to the cause. Kelly Jolkowski, Jason's mother and founder of Project Jason, spoke about the disappearance of her son and how they support famillies with missing people. This Second Life event is a great example of how virtual worlds have real world results. Thank you to all who created and supported the event!
Nonprofit Commons and the University of Auckland Architecture Students have been working together to gather ideas for the NPC sim. We reviewed several projects tonight and were thrilled with some of the ideas. All the students did a great job!
